Singapore airlines has officially announced the launch of the KrisPay - digital blockchain wallet, which allows to transfer KrisFlyer miles into KrisPay miles to partially or fully pay for them at 18 merchants including different goods services: petrol, food and beverage , retail, beauty services.
“We are excited to be introducing KrisPay, a novel way for our KrisFlyer members to digitally access their miles at their fingertips, at any time. By creating a miles-based digital wallet which integrates the use of miles into their daily lives, KrisFlyer members have yet another way to use miles instantly on everyday transactions,”- said Mr Goh Choon Phong , Singapore Airlines CEO
Singapore Airlines is planning to become a world digital leader among airlines.
The presented solution allows to carry out operations with savings starting from 15 miles, which are equal to 10 Singapore cents ($0.73). During the launch phase, airline partners will also provide KrisPay users with discounts on goods and services. In the coming monts, the partners program is going to expand through adding new stores and services and special promotional prices for frequent flyers.
KrisPay is a product of KPMG Digital and Microsoft collaboration that runs on a private blockchain. KrisPay is now available on Apple and Google Play Store.
The company announced their plans to transfer the loyalty program for passengers on the blockchain in February this year. Singapore Airlines is planning to become a world digital leader among airlines.
